Turangawaewae, 40" x 30" oil on board.  Turangawaewae represents the New Zealand  bush, or rain forest - and the bird is a fantail, or Piwakawaka.  Turangawaewae is a Maori word which literally means, a place to stand, but it also refers to the place in the world where you feel most connected.  For me, it is the New Zealand bush.
